These Volunteer Ticket Terms & Conditions (“Volunteer Terms“) apply specifically to volunteer tickets issued in connection with TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, taking place October 13-15, 2026, in San Francisco, California (the “Event”), and supplement the TechCrunch Event Participant Terms & Conditions available at https://techcrunch.com/event-participant-terms-conditions/ (the “General Event Terms”). In the event of a conflict, these Volunteer Terms shall govern. All other provisions of the General Event Terms remain in full effect.
1. Volunteer Commitment & Ticket Exchange
In exchange for a volunteer ticket to the Event, each volunteer is required to pay a refundable deposit of $50.00 (the “Commitment Deposit”) at the time of registration and complete a minimum of 10 hours of service across 5 days from Oct 11th to Oct 15th, 2026, (2 days prior to the conference and 3 days during the conference). Upon successful completion of all required volunteer shifts, the Commitment Deposit will be refunded to the original form of payment within fourteen (14) business days following the conclusion of the Event.
Shift scheduling will be managed through an official sign-up sheet released by TechCrunch Media LLC. Volunteers are responsible for selecting shifts they are available to fulfill within the designated pre-conference and conference days. Shift availability is on a first-come, first-served basis and is not guaranteed. If a volunteer is unable to meet the minimum service requirement due to limited shift availability, the volunteer may submit a written request to [email protected] for a refund of the Commitment Deposit. TechCrunch Media LLC reserves the sole discretion to determine whether a refund is warranted and what remedy, if any, is appropriate.
Volunteers must complete all selected shifts in full to be considered in good standing. Failure to fulfill the required volunteer duties, including no-shows or incomplete hours, will result in forfeiture of the Commitment Deposit and revocation of the volunteer ticket without further notice.
2. Ticket Restrictions
Volunteer tickets are issued exclusively for the individual volunteer named at registration and are non-transferable. Volunteer tickets may not be exchanged for any other ticket type, upgraded to a different pass category, or resold. Any attempt to transfer, exchange, upgrade, or resell a volunteer ticket will result in immediate cancellation of the ticket without refund or reimbursement.
3. Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Cancellations on or before Monday, October 5 at 12:00 PM PST: Volunteers who cancel their registration by this deadline will receive a full refund of the Commitment Deposit, processed to the original form of payment within fourteen (14) business days of the cancellation request.
- Cancellations after October 5 at 12:00 PM PST: The Commitment Deposit is non-refundable for any cancellation made after this deadline. No exceptions will be made outside of the Force Majeure provision below.
- Non-fulfillment of Volunteer Duties: Volunteers who do not complete their required shifts, regardless of cancellation status, will not be eligible for a refund of the Commitment Deposit.
To request a cancellation, volunteers must contact [email protected] prior to the applicable deadline. TechCrunch Media LLC will confirm receipt of a cancellation request within two (2) business days.
4. Force Majeure
In the event that a volunteer is unable to attend due to circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, serious illness, government-mandated travel restrictions, or other qualifying force majeure events, cancellation requests will be reviewed and evaluated on a case-by-case basis. TechCrunch Media LLC reserves the sole discretion to determine whether a force majeure event qualifies for an exception and what remedy, if any, is appropriate. To submit a force majeure request, volunteers must contact [email protected] with supporting documentation as soon as reasonably practicable.
