Roman Hölzl
CEO & Co-founder, RobCo
Roman Hoelzl is the Co-Founder and CEO of RobCo – the $1B+ unicorn that is bringing Physical AI to the factory floor.
He started RobCo in 2020 with a stubborn idea: the labor shortage in manufacturing isn’t going away, and the robots capable of solving it were out of reach for most companies. Today, RobCo has 225 people across San Francisco, Austin and Munich, with 1,000+ robots deployed and 3.5M+ operating hours across Europe and the United States – serving customers across industries – from fast-growing companies to Fortune 10 enterprises.
Before RobCo, Roman studied Human Factors Engineering at the Technical University of Munich – with time at Harvard and the University of Sydney – and built his expertise in robotics and product development at Tesla, Kuka, and BMW. He appeared on the cover of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 for Manufacturing & Industry.
In March 2027, RobCo will commercially launch Alfie – its Autonomous Industrial Robot – at RobCoN, the company’s first annual summit in Munich. Roman has relocated to the United States to lead North American expansion personally.
Away from RobCo, Roman is a former competitive freestyle skier who won the German National Academic Championships and competed internationally on the Dynastar and Lange teams.
