Neil Sequeira

Neil Sequeira is Founder and Partner at defy.vc, where he partners with exceptional entrepreneurs building category-defining companies. With more than 25 years of experience in venture capital and technology, Neil has backed companies across AI, fintech, cybersecurity, healthcare, enterprise software, and consumer technology. Before founding defy, Neil spent 12 years as a Managing Director at General Catalyst, where he led investments in companies including The Honest Company, Vitrue (Oracle), Elemental Technologies (Amazon/AWS), HotPotato (Facebook), and ThisTech (Comcast). Earlier in his career, he held roles at Accenture, Goldman Sachs, CMGI, AOL Ventures, and TimeWarner Investments. Over the course of his career, Neil has served on more than 80 boards and overseen more than 30 exits, including IPOs and significant M&A. At defy, his current investments include ArenaClub, Airspace, HonorLock, Reveal, and Perplexity, as well as acquired companies and IPOs including Nautilus Biotechnology, Securly, and Apploi. Neil holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
