Dhanji R. Prasanna
Chief Technology Officer, Block
Dhanji R. Prasanna is the Chief Technology Officer at Block. He joined Block in 2015, leading engineering for Cash App from a small team to a large business. Dhanji also led the engineering initiatives for Cash Card and bringing bitcoin to Cash App in 2018. In 2024, he became CTO of all of Block, and is currently overseeing all software engineering at Block, across Square, Cash App, Afterpay, TIDAL, Proto, and Bitkey. He is leading Block’s efforts around AI and open source technologies, which includes the recent launch of codename goose, an open source, interoperable AI agent framework.
Prior to joining Block, Dhanji held lead engineering roles at Google and Thoughtworks and various startups. He has written about software engineering and has won awards for his open source work.
