Apeksha Kumavat

Apeksha Kumavat is Co-founder and Chief Engineer of Gatik, where she leads the company’s autonomous driving technology and engineering organization. A lifelong technologist, she began building predictive agents and robotics systems as a teenager before earning her master’s degree at Purdue University. After working on autonomous vehicle systems at Ford and leading machine learning software at robotics startup OTSAW, she co-founded Gatik in 2017 with Arjun and Gautam Narang. In 2021, Apeksha led the deployment of the trucking industry’s first fully driverless commercial vehicles on public roads. Since then, she has helped take Gatik’s operations to commercial scale, with dozens of driverless trucks operating across North America for some of the world’s largest companies including PepsiCo and Canada’s Loblaw.
